Save the actual fare conditions alongside your booking confirmation. If flexibility matters, compare the cost of the fare you would need rather than assuming a cheap ticket can be changed cheaply later. A fare difference and a service charge are separate things to check.
Finally, confirm airport codes, dates, passenger names and the total on the payment screen. If you switch from Google Flights to Skyscanner or an airline, repeat that last check: you have opened another provider’s offer, not transferred a guaranteed price.
